Bosnia/ Herzegovina and Kosovo are the only two countries in the Balkans and former Yugoslavia doing something about the burqua. So far Bosnia & Herzegovina and Kosovo have bans in place depending on where you are. Even Albania is considering putting a ban on. A majority of people in the Balkans who want it banned is for security reasons like the rest of Europe. CCTV (Closed Circuit Television) can't tell who is walking with the head and face covered. Kosovo- where 95% of the population is Muslim, ban Islamic head coverings in schools. Bosnia & Herzegovina- Lawyers, prosecutors and judges are also not aloud to wear the hijab at work. Also a majority of people are Muslim as-well. On an online poll Yugoslav Underground took was divided. While 67% of people said yes, 33% of people said no. Even in the west, Quebec, Canada made a ban on facial coverings in any government buildings including public transit which caused a backlash in the Province. With the refugee crisis underway people coming in, or that are in the country from the middle east think that its against human rights for the government to tell them that they can and cannot wear. Hasna Aitboilahcen who was Europes first woman suicide bomber was wearing a facial covering before detonating herself as she was being questioned. As you can tell it is a security issue that needs to be resolved across Europe.
