Countries like Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia/ Herzegovina and others are expected to have in increase in tourism for the 2018 season. Slovenia is expected another 7% to 10% increase in tourist from last year. So far its been steadily rising in the number of visitors from previous years. Passenger numbers are up 19.8% at the Ljubljana Airport. Adria Airways (Slovenian Flag Carrier Airline) has added seven new destinations for this summer.
Next door to Croatia, the country is also looking for an increase in tourist. Split, Croatia one of the main hubs for gorgeous beaches and nightlife has seen a steady rise. Even though European Coastal Airlines stopped its service all together in Split, the flock of visitors driving, flying and even taking a ferry in hasn't stopped the rise. Zagreb Airport are also up 11.8%. Air Canada Rouge will begin its seasonal service this summer from Toronto. Also another Canadian Airline, Air Transat will begin its service from Montreal this summer as well. With those two vacation airlines bringing service to Zagreb we could see another 10% increase in passengers. Serbia and Bosnia/ Herzegovina has also brought in new flights from Europe and North America. Thats just from the airline section. Dubrovnik was also put on the map, since it was one of the filming locations for the TV show Game of Thrones. This has also helped increase tourism to the town. It has been a good few years for the former Yugoslav States and now it should be another good few more years as we will see an increase in visitors coming more and more every year.
